Classical Martial Arts of Long Island prides itself on being the premier martial arts school in the Old Bethpage area for young children. We teach our students in this age group the skills they need to succeed, while they learn to protect themselves. Our system and teaching methods are simply life-transforming. This program is a precursor to our Mighty Tiger / Mighty Dragon Program and places a strong emphasis on building the foundation for your child's future SUCCESS!
At Classical Martial Arts of Long Island, we have found children in this age group are eager to try new things, but often lack the discipline to stick with them - a concept we call "stick-to-it-tive-ness." Having the ability to stay focused and determined even when an activity is difficult can make a huge difference throughout a person’s life.
This is why we make sure all our Youth Program students learn to stick to whatever they start, and never quit for the wrong reasons. Make no mistake, this is not your garden-variety martial art program, filled with empty creeds and sayings that the students do not take to heart. Sensei Steve Jackowicz and his team of instructors incorporate the ethics, moral integrity and martial art techniques they've gained from decades of training into each and every class. This martial art program can truly change your child’s life.
To succeed in life, a child needs to acquire the skills and habits necessary to face difficult challenges, and push through them while staying positive and focused, no matter if they win or lose. It's also important for children to learn how to work and compete with their peers, while maintaining respect for themselves and others.
As they develop their physical skills and learn to trust in their abilities, their self confidence and self esteem will soar. Ultimately, our classes teach children how to hold themselves to a higher standard with both confidence and humility.
In many conventional sports there are always some children who do very well, and others who struggle. We have a slogan, “there are no bench warmers in our school.” Every child excels in this program, developing their confidence in the process, so that they will be able to deal with any situation life presents to them.
Our objective is to help each and every child grow in a positive manner, while equipping them with abilities that will help them in school, at home, on the playground, and of course, in situations where they have to stand up for themselves. Our ultimate goal is to help you raise children that are unstoppable.
At our school, we do not take belt promotion lightly. We do everything in our power to teach students to be patient, determined, and goal oriented, so when they do earn their belts, they feel a great sense of accomplishment that really boosts their confidence and self esteem.
And unlike sports or other activities where only some kids score the points or get the medals, every student at Classical Martial Arts of Long Island gets to experience the personal reward of advancing from one level to the next.
Our ultimate aim is to help our students learn not only excellent martial arts skills, but also to set and achieve goals, be well-behaved, and work hard in everything they do.
